I died my hair 2 wks ago with dark brown..almost black but I think it's too dark and I want to dye it to make it lighter. Do you think if i use blond hair color than it will make it lighter?? Has anyone tried this?? Or any other good suggestion to make it lighter w/o damaging too much.

If you use blond hair color it will not get blonde, it will get a copper - red - orange tone.

I think the only way to go lighter is to bleach, and its bad to bye right after dying it...

dont get blonde, just get the lighter color you wanted, and after your done get some protien packs from beauty supply to help restire it to better health.

dying it blond won't work at all. you can only bleach it to make it lighter, but i think it might be too soon. call the customer service number of the company who's dye you used.

If you dye it blonde, it will probably come out a crazy color. I would reccomend going for a light brown or better yet, go get it done professionally.

Nobody can asnwer that without actually seeing your hair. This is a question that will never ever be asnwerable by internet.

Go to a good hairdresser and ask there.

i'd give it a few more weeks..it'll start fading out...then do a different color..but not a dark to a blonde at home..

the salon would be best for that...and prepare to spend some bucks.

if you use blonde.. it might turn blonde. you could always buy this shampoo that makes your hair lighter. go to a store and ask if they have a shampoo like that. you have to wait for a month or more to dye your hair again. so use the shampoo until then... and once it's time you can get a light brown color and dye your hair.

Don't do anything - go to a hair salon. It will lighten up after a few washes, but if you still think it is too dark, the colorist will strip it and re-dye it the color you want.

Why don't you take advantage of being dark-haired ,by changing to darker clothes or brighter clothes? NO PASTELS, if you think your hair is too dark. You can wear pink blush, not peaches or corals.

It will grow out, or you can get a trim to take the darkest ends off of it.

SEE A HAIRSTYLIST about a lighter color!! YOU cannot change that dark color, yourself, without damage.

I think you should go to a hair-salon. I had the same problem. I would recommend to just wait and wash it as much as possible. The color will get lighter after a couple of washes. Don't dye it yourself. If you do, you'll end up damaging it and you never know what haircolor you'll end up getting.
