Ok i dyed my hair red 1year ago blond 6 months ago and this red will not get out what do i do?

So is the red showing through the blonde? Or the blonde fading to the red? Its a common issue: Red can be the hardest color to put into hair and the hardest color to take out!

Try getting highlites with a color that will neutralize the red. This may sound silly but maybe you should ask your stylist to tone your hair with a color that has an ashy base. Green neutralizes red and thus the two would cancel each other out!

Otherwise you might want to try an all over slightly darker color then blonde, like a lighter brown, to perhaps grab onto the red color. Then in a few months, try adding the blonde back in!!!

dye doesnt just wash out of your hair you have to dye it a darker color or go to a pro.

bleach it frequently (i mean around once every two months) and wash it frequently. it's terrible for your hair though...but hey!

I was told by my stylist (after going black) that black %26amp; red are the 2 hardest colors to remove. You must have it stripped before going blonde %26amp; it will most likely need some toning too. FYI - I went black for 8 mos %26amp; it took me FIVE hours in the stylist chair to remove it %26amp; get it back to my natural brown - also cost me close to $200. :(

Call the company that makes the Hair color you are using and ask them what steps to take. You may need to use a color balancer or even a stripper of some sort. I have found the colorist advisers on those helplines to be a very valuable resource. Good Luck!
