dyeing over blonde with a brown shouldnt damage the hair as it is deposit only and does not require the replacement or stripping of the blonde. The brown will cover the blonde and shouldnt go green!! The likeliness is that you may need to re colour it soon after as the porosity of blonde hair doesnt tend to hold onto colour. A cold rinse after colouring and washing can help to close cuticle a bit to help stop this. The blonde has replaced your own hair pigment(colour) by stripping your own out, most brown dyes will not strip your hair but will just add to the pigment to change it.

id really advise u 2 save up coz youve got 2 get your hair stripped of the blonde b 4 u can dye it again,coz if u dont u risk yr hair going green or something,and im sure u wudnt want that

it is easier to dye your hair one solid color yourself, especially a darker color over a lighter color. dye your hair as close to your original color as you can get it. that way when your roots begin to show it will just blend with the dye. my hair was a dark brown and i dyed the top layer honey blond and it began to break off bad. so dyed it a darker color and do hot oil treatments regularly.

I think you would need to get a colour strip or something like that which washes off any colour left on your hair so you can dye it again without the two dyes reacting to each other and you ending up ginger or something!!! I am sure you can get this from a drugstore or something.Why dont you call a hairdressers and ask them what can be done I am sure they wouldnt mind helping out or go to your local college where they do it very cheaply with supervised beauty students.

Don't dye it yourself, that's really messy.

Best thing is to save up your money and get it professionally done.

Choose a good quality hair dye (say L'Oreal) in a colour close to your natural brown. Follow the instructions carefully.

I think it will be OK - because using the dark dye will only be once, you will then be able to let your own colour grow back. The colour won't be QUITE the same, because your bleached hair will be very dry, but I think that is better than just growing it out, which EVERYONE notices.

As soon as you can, go to the hairdresser for a good cut - shouldn't cost too much, and will make all the difference.

I did this myself a few years back. It can feel very liberating being a brunette again and it saves on blonde hair dye and when your own hair has grown a bit, you will have healthier hair!!

I would also suggest finding a school they are cheaper and its kinda difficult to do it yourself depending on how light you are and what you used to go blonde, you have to replace the missing pigment from your hair and good luck with doing that yourself,especially if your hair is breaking, do lots of deep conditioners first like 2xs a week for 3 weeks and get the ends trimmed regularly. good luck

I have read some of these answers and 1st off you can not strip blond hair!!!!!

Just get the color that you want in a semi permanent dye kit,This will insure coverage without the long term damage, they have them at Sally's for cheap. No more than $15 Once you have done the color, condition it very very well and you should be fine. Your hair has been through a serious process, the dark color will help to mask that a little. The deep conditioning will do the rest.

And whatever you do .... DO NOT go to a beauty school, you will just be their test dummy. (Been there, Done that! and wont go back again)

If you add brown to blond it will go khaki. As a hairdresser I have seen this many a time. Its honestly worth waiting and having it done properly. They will repigment it (putting the dark pigment back in) and this will give you a nice even long lasting tone. Honestly do not colour it yourself as you will only cause more damage and then more cost.

to go dark again u are gonna have to do it gradually other wise it wont take properly or try a dark colur in a semi permanent its kinda to your hair, you can bulid it up quicker this way rather than permanent that u should on use once a month and try using and intensive conditioner like aussie 3 min miracle i go to bed with it on and the wash it off in the morning.

if your hairs breaking, you will need to get it back into good condition before you apply more colour to it. If you don't you risk losing even more hair.

I can recommend REDKEN extreme shampoo and conditioner, these are protein rich this will strengthen your hair from the inside out. its not just a cosmetic product. after 2 to 3 months you will notice great improvement in your hairs strengthen.

Once your hairs healthy again, apply a semi colour avoid any ash tones as this may turn the hair green. also choose one shade darker than your target shade. as you are applying over blonde it will develop slightly lighter than stated on the packaging of the colour.

you might be best going to a hairdressing training evening or local training college and having this done under the watchful eye of experienced stylists.
