well it's a good sign that he would like your natural looking self, don't you think? it's much harder to keep the orange tan-blonde hair look and not just be yourself not doing anything to your hair etc. i mean, he SHOULD accept you the way he is, but it is a very fake look. guys want to wake up with a girl next to them that look the same as the girl they went to bed with . hope that helps.
