I have done that to many girls as an accent on short hair or a peek-a-boo surprise on long hair and usually, it's a hit with everyone, but you can also do it with darker brown and that way it won't be so much of a shock to you and you can always do black, the next time! to me the colors are too much of a contrast. black and blonde are like complete opisites.

No affense but I think it would look a little trashy if you want to do some thing dark in you hair get a really dark brown almost black and die you hair under neath it looks so cute!

I gotta say that you should do whatever you want, and you think would look best. In the end it's your happiness that matters. But in regards to whether it would look trashy, no i don't think it would. My sister had her hair dyed a dirty blonde and she did a dark brown/black on the bottom and it looked really good. Her one friend did the reverse with the dark on top and light on bottom and that looked good too. Do whatever you want, hun. It's your hair. But I think it will look good with the under layers being black

Personally, I don't think it's trashy. When I do see blonde hair with black underneath, I think it looks a little abrupt with such contrasting colors. I think it looks really cute when the highlights are a little more on the darker blonde/caramel side and then a darker layer underneath. That's what I'm thinking about doing to my hair.
