Any tips on chaing my black hair to blond w/o bleaching it?

I went to the salon to get hightlights to lighten my hair gradually.Big Mistake it got 3 shade red orange.So i dyed it black but it didnt really dye. It kinda washed out.So now i look like a lepard.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well if you want to go blond get it professionally done because if you don't it will come out an orange color.

But the problem with going dark to light if that within a month you roots will show and will make you hair look funny, but if your hair was already blond then I'd go maybe a few shades darker then regular color, because then roots won't show too visibly.

I would also prefer growing hair out too.
