No don't do it dark red hair deserves the proper treatment, blonde streaks will look terrible try instead try for streaks that are a shade or two lighter than the color the hair is, or if you want to try something extreme, use a brown or even try purple (dark purple of course:)

Red, although it's one of the coolest colors, is one of the most difficult colors to keep from fading and bleached highlights will turn pink or yellow depending on the tone of red used (cool or warm). If you really want it, I say go for it! But make sure you go to a professional.
